The Knob is a model area for watching hawks. This extraordinary hawk-watch north of Allentown provides hawks-eye views of forests and fields below. The South Lookout is a rocky outcropping traversing the south side of the Kittatinny Ridge and offers exceptional viewing to the south and east. The North Lookout is a smaller viewing area on the north side across the ridge top from the South Lookout. Additional north views can be found by hiking the Appalachian Trail (A.T.) northeast 0.1-miles past the South Lookout. Scramble down several large boulders along the A.T. and bear right to the rocky lookout.

Wind Factor:
South Lookout – Best viewing during winds out of the south or east.
North Lookout – Best viewing during winds from the north or west.
