   Peter's Mountain
(Dauphin County)

A 15-minute walk to the northeast will lead to a power line with a nearly 360 degree view. This Tuscarora sandstone rocky outcropping sits atop Blue Mountain and offers superb autumn viewing of up to 16 species of raptors. The raptors tend to be closer at this site, especially in the morning. The power line is active and close overhead. This is also a nice hike in the spring and summer with nesting Cerulean Warblers, and other songbirds.

Directions:
US 22/322 west from Harrisburg to Dauphin. Take Route 225 north. Drive about 4.0 miles from the exit ramp. Just before reaching the summit of Peter's Mountain, turn right onto a small macadam road that leads to a parking lot. Park and walk northeast along the Appalachian Trail. Upon reaching the power line, turn right and follow the trail to the top of the rocks.
