Audubon Pennsylvania in Northwestern PA located 301 Chestnut Street in Meadville, offers several services to help promote Native Plants for bird habitat.
We have a Native Plant demonstration Garden where many varieties of plants can be seen and identified, volunteers can help maintain the garden and excess plants can be shared. Staff offers various educational programs and presentations to civic groups, garden clubs and organizations including Audubon at Home, PA Native Plants, Native Plants for Pollinators, Native Plants for Hummingbirds, and Native Plants for Stormwater Management. Or we can customize a presentation to fit any need.
Staff can help groups, individuals, landowners, or municipalities with Native Plant needs including consultation and processing applications for the Audubon Bird Habitat Recognition Program.
We also have available for purchase a booklet of obtainable PA Native Plants that do well in Northwestern Pennsylvania from local nurseries. The PA Native Plants of the French Creek Watershed booklet is available at the Meadville office at 301 Chestnut Street for $20 each.
