Join us for a special art exhibition created by the Center for Culture, Art, Work, and Education (CCATE), a Norristown-based nonprofit with the mission to ignite social transformation by developing the talents of and empowering the Latinx community through culture, art, career development, and education. This limited-time exhibition draws inspiration from the migratory journeys of the Wood Thrush, Scarlet Tanager, and Cerulean Warbler which depend on Pennsylvania forests to nest and breed then spend the winter in South and Central America.
Visitors will experience a unique mix of artwork, including:
- “The Hummingbird of a Thousand Ideas” sculpture
- Sueños/Dreams – a filmbook of poetry and original music
- A variety of paintings, linen fabric panels, and paper mâché sculptures
Visitors can also participate in a collaborative art project where they color individual squares of paper using the color palettes of the featured birds. Colored squares will be joined together into a collective artwork representing the shared love of birds that connects Audubon and CCATE communities.
Artworks will be displayed throughout the Museum and on the second floor of the Historic House. Historic House tours are offered at 11:00am and 12:30pm and are free with admission.
