Birdsong is one of nature's most captivating sounds. Whether you hear it from your open window, while taking a stroll, or on the soundtrack of a movie, birdsong is all around us, if we take the time to listen.
Join us for this free classroom program designed for beginning birders of all ages as well as those simply curious about avian vocalizations. Participants will learn:
- The reasons birds vocalize and the variety of sounds they produce.
- How to interpret different calls and songs.
- Effective strategies for learning bird vocalizations.
- Tools and techniques used by experienced birders to identify species by ear.
At the end of the class, Valley Forge Audubon Society instructors Patty & John Werth will lead an optional outdoor listening tour, offering participants the opportunity to apply the information just taught in a natural setting.
Come learn, listen, and fall in love with the soundtrack of nature.
NOTE: This class is designed for those new to birding.
Space is limited. Please register here to confirm your seat.
