Plants for Birds

Become A Plant Foster!

We're planting the seeds of community conservation and we need you! Audubon's plant foster program is designed to support neighbors while they "foster" plant seedlings for the neighborhood gardens. Neighbors just like you will “foster” plants for about three months from July through September. At the end of the "foster" period, you'll have the opportunity to drop your plants off or add your plants directly into the community garden on Parkway Boulevard between Atlantic and Pacific Aveneues.  And,  if you'd like, you'll have the option to keep some for your own garden!

The program is free for participants and it's a fun and easy way to get involved in community conservation efforts. Materials will be supplied at no cost – seeds, pots, and soil. All you need to give is water, sunlight, and of course, a little green-thumb love! After those three months, you will receive satisfaction and beautiful community gardens.”

Sound interesting? Sign up here to join us Plant Foster Workshop at Kiwanis Lake on July 10th, at 9 am and get started!

Unable to make it to the workshop, but still want to get involved? Connect with Noelle at noelle.lafaver@audubon.org.

The plant foster program is Funded in part by grants from the Codorus Watershed Fund of York County Community Foundation and the Powder Mill Foundation.
