Experience Birds and Nature with Audubon Pennsylvania

In lieu of gathering for our annual Friends of a Feather this year, we’re pleased to offer alternative ways for our valued supporters to come together. With gratitude for your generous gift, we invite you for a small group guided exploration of Audubon’s most inspiring destinations or directly support our mission to protect the places birds and people need, today and tomorrow.*

Choose from the experiences below or sponsor Audubon Pennsylvania’s work to protect birds and the places they need.

TUNDRA SWAN - $10,000

Birds and Brews

Your group of twelve will enjoy birding in Fairmount Park and at The Discovery Center with one of Audubon’s engaging ornithologists. Rest your feet and awaken your senses with a catered meal and beer tasting featuring selections from the Brewers for the Delaware River Association. Learn about Audubon’s collaboration with the Brewers of the Delaware River and why clean water is good for birds and brews! Can be booked May through December 2021

GREAT BLUE HERON - $5,000

Each of these three-hour experiences includes refreshments for you and up to seven guests, except as noted.

Birding by Canoe

Do you love birds, do you love water? Then this is the perfect program for you! An Audubon naturalist will help you identify birds and native plants while you paddle on the Strawberry Mansion Reservoir at The Discovery Center.  Followed by a hands-on experience with the freshwater mussel nursery at the Reservoir.  Binoculars provided. Best from May through October 2021

What's in Your Attic?

After a tour of the John James Audubon Center, join in a fun, lively, interactive investigation of two treasures brought by each participant. Hollie Powers Holt, Art Advisor to JJAC, author, and owner of Fine Antique Prints; Dale E. Hunt, antiques dealer and proprietor of The Antique Store in Wayne; and AnnMarie Palumbo-Parks, gemologist and owner of Accent Antiques Fine Jewelry, will evaluate your antique pieces and offer tips on how to research on your own. Limited availability. Framed pieces will be examined without unframing. September 12, 2021

Beer Tasting

Clean water = great beer!  And do we have some great beer for you! After a tour of The Discovery Center, you will learn about Audubon’s collaboration with the Brewers of the Delaware River Association and why clean water is good for birds and brews! Beer tasting features selections from member breweries, Brewers of the Delaware River Association. Available throughout 2021.

ATLANTIC PUFFIN - $2,500

Each of these experiences includes light refreshments for you and up to five guests.

Discovery Center Tour

Enjoy a two-hour guided tour of The Discovery Center’s exhibits and trails with a member of Audubon’s conservation team where you and guests view waterfowl and warblers and learn how Audubon, the local community, and partners work to restore this vital habitat. Best from spring to fall, 2021

Film Screening, if you dare! Spooky!

Join a film historian and an ornithologist for a panel discussion following a screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1963 film The Birds at the John James Audubon Center. Could birds truly attack with no explanation? Were the birds in the film real? Join us for answers to these questions and more! Best on a fall weeknight, 2021.

Birding at Mill Grove

Bird in the footsteps of John James Audubon!  An Audubon naturalist will be your  guide as you bird on foot through meadows and woods and by canoe on the Perkiomen Creek. Will you be the first to spot a Belted Kingfisher? Nature is exciting and always changing, so you never know what we will find along the way! John James Audubon Center.  Best from May to October 2021
